I finished a BS in Facilities Mgt. in 1988 and an MBA in 1990. I worked in what was then intelligent building controls via primitive networks. In 1991 I briefly worked for WordPerfect in Orem because I had seen a network once. Later that year, I started working for UVCC as a Network Mgr. Three years later I was being asked to teach networking so often I did not have time to do my job, so I applied for an open teaching position. I've been teaching IT since 1994. Early on I was interested in OSs other than Windows and began to play with OS/2. When IBM dropped OS/2, I looked at Linux. Linux has been and continues to be a significant portion of the (now) UVU IT degree (and CS) programs. I'm just beginning the dissertation phase of a PhD in Digital Sys Comm from ISU.

Current official contact for Ubuntu in the state of Utah. Original founder of the Ubuntu Utah Local Team. Working with local LUGs to help support, expand and advocate Ubuntu.
I've long been a programmer, but after getting an AS degree from SLCC in CIS I decided to go to film school at the U of U. I have been a perl programmer/web developer since 1997.
I have been using F/OSS since 2000, when I returned from an LDS mission. My brother, Hans, introduced me to Linux at that time. I'm a pragmatist -- I use Windows and other commercial software when necessary -- but I do prefer F/OSS when available and appropriate.
I've worked professionally as a computer programmer for eight years, with a two year haitus from 1998-2000. I currently do internal systems development at Prosper, Inc. in Provo. I am most familiar with web applications programming. I have extensive experience with web services technology.
Provo High, US Navy, FTTH
Graduate Student in Computer Science at the University of Utah.
I am a mathematician (PhD from SUNY Albany) who is now looking for work in computer programming. I especially like the mix of linear algebra and computer software found in computer graphics, but I'm willing to do work in other things as well.
I have professional experience using Perl, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, etc. in web development; as a student I've used C++ and Java; in personal projects I've used Forth, Assembler, and Python. I'm currently learning Haskell and Common Lisp, and, while I'd be willing to use any language, I'd be especially exited if I could use Python, Haskell or Lisp!
I'm also interested in both digital and analog robotics (I like "dual quaternions"; they have applications in both robotics and computer graphics), technical writing, and being a security guard (especially if I get to use the flame thrower).
I am also interested in part-time work! I'm currently working part-time for EV Source in Logan; working part-time for others will make it easier for me to continue work with EV Source.
I have been called a brand maverick. I build powerful, striking identities and manage brands with precision. I specialize in developing complete, visual solutions for the modern market by combining concept, strategy, creative structure and the ability to effectively deliver balanced technology and aesthetic. I am a Utah native and current reside in Lehi with my wife and daughter. An avid outdoorsman, artist, and musician, I am always challenging myself with adventures and projects. I am currently directing the creative team at Doba, developing campaigns, collatoral, and web application interfaces for a service that is revolutionizing the product sourcing industry.
